We started off with an afternoon in the Dandenong Ranges. It was a lovely warm sunny day.
Day 2 was forecast to be cold and wet (true to Melbourne weather form!) so we planned a trip to the Yarra Valley so we could be mostly inside... a tasting platter at a winery, and the Chocolaterie were highlights.
Dazz snapped this little guy at the caravan park.
Day 3 was a trip down the peninsula to Point Napean. Although it was mostly sunny the wind was cold.
Day 4 was in the city, with visits to family and friends. Now we've mastered the trams and seen the South Melbourne Markets the city will be on the list of must-dos for future trips! The camera came out a few times for some random city shots.
Day 5 was a visit the Phillip Island for the Antarctic Journey (which we thought was overrated) and the Penguin Parade (which was great). It also happened to be the same day as the Moto GP, which we drove right past. We could hear the bikes even though we couldn't see them. I did manage a quick snap of the track, though.
Checking out our thermal images compared to the penguins and playing with the whale in the 'augmented reality'.
There were great views around The Nobbies, and we even spotted a penguin in a burrow!
Waiting for the penguin parade. (There were strictly no photos once the penguins arrived, so unfortunately we can't share the experience of them waddling up the beach, or watching them up-close from the boardwalks as they meandered their way back to their burrows.)
