We had an extremely busy five weeks after Cotton Tree doing the final tidy up of our property to get it ready for sale. It was listed at the end of April and we had a signed contract in under three weeks (for more than the agent and some of our friends thought we would get for it!). What was supposed to be a five week settlement turned into eight weeks, but that didn't stop us hitting the road. We were at Mum and Dad's for a few weeks while Darren helped Dad with yard work.
Once the contract had gone unconditional, and we finished off some uni work, we headed west. First stop was Chinchilla Weir.
We had a longer drive the second day and stayed at a gravel pit south of Springsure. It was nice and quiet, and meant that we could get to the Gem Fields earlier the next day.
