I had been looking at new places we might be able to go for a few weeks on our way back to Toowoomba. Currawinya National Park looked interesting, and in all our travels we hadn't been on the Landsborough or Mitchell Highways from Tambo to Cunnamulla, so we would tick off some new roads and new places!
We spent two nights in Tambo to take full advantage of being plugged into water (after a month of filling the van tanks from 20 litre containers and trying to be a bit frugal) and gave the ensuite a good clean and did loads and loads of washing. We also enjoyed some walks around the town.
We were planning to stay just one night on the Warrego River at Wyandra, but we decided it looked perfect for kayaking, so stayed a second night so we could spend the next afternoon on the water. It was absolutely beautiful.
