The other "must do" thing in the Top End is a wildlife cruise. Kakadu was too far to go in our short timeframe, but I found some cruises on Corroboree Billabong that looked good. Since this was our one opportunity to get out on the water (no kayaking opportunities anywhere up here!) we chose to do the sunrise and the sunset cruises.
Sunrise gave us a very bird-focused cruise
Radjah Shelduck
Australasian DarterAzure Kingfisher
White-bellied Sea Eagle
Pied Cormorant
Magpie Goose
Black-necked Stork
Nankeen Night Heron
Some buffalo crossed the road in front of us on our way home.
We stopped on our way to the afternoon cruise because we'd noticed some birds here in the morning.
Masked Lapwing
Radjah Shelducks
Wandering Whistling Ducks
Sunset cruise - a lot more crocodiles
Australasian Darter - male and female
White-bellied Sea Eagle
And a couple of bonus birds from the caravan park at Marrakai.
Partridge Pigeon
Varied Triller
Great bowerbird
Tawny Frogmouth
