Here are a few photos from our week in Thailand/Laos visiting friends on our way home. We didn't do much 'touristy' sightseeing, but enjoyed seeing our friends' normal lives (and eating great food!). We took trains each way, but the windows were too dirty to take photos...

Ölüdeniz
A little bit more of the Med - at sunset...
... and the next morning.
We enjoyed watching the sky divers, as well as a walk around the lagoon (behind the left-hand end of the white beach above). We even managed to spot a chameleon. Kayaking on the lagoon was wonderfully relaxing. Two nights was enough, though, because it was incredibly crowded - full of foreign tourists!

Limyra ruins, near Finike on the Med Coast
We've been staying near Finike, on the Mediterranean coast, and today we decided it was time to explore some nearby ruins. We wandered along country lanes, lined with orange and pomegranate orchards. Not far from the ruins were lovely little springs - perfect for cooling down hot feet.
As we came around the corner of a ruined wall we were surprised to see an area where the grass had been mowed, and there was a spring coming out from underneath the wall. It now flows down what seemed like an old road. Absolutely beautiful!

Finally....
Our summer of teaching turned into an autumn of marking and online work, which hasn't left time for much else. We used a few days off to drive to Victoria to visit family after a health scare with one uncle earlier in the year, and spent a few weeks working while we camped on the Murray.
We're now heading back north, and have finally managed to fit in a day of bushwalking at the Warrambungle NP. It was a cold start (the washing was frozen!) but it was a beautiful sunny day.The muscles are now protesting loudly, though, since it has been a long, long time since the last day hike...
