Heading home

After we left Melbourne we visited friends and family in regional Victoria. We had some nice forest walks, enjoyed the quaint old buildings, silo art, and of course the majestic old river red gums.

We found a nice quiet spot on the Murray River for Easter. There was a bit of a lagoon on one side and the river on the other. We enjoyed two beautiful sunny days out on the kayaks.

After Easter we were supposed to meet one of our nieces at Lake Hume, but they had car troubles and unfortunately couldn't make it. The park had a great view but the sites were cut into the side of the hill and access was rather difficult. Drainage was also not the best!

The Lake Hume dam wall.

After a couple of nights free camping (and work) we went to Canberra to visit one of our nephews. We stayed in Queanbeyan for the first time, and really enjoyed the autumn views around the river.

We went to the National Arboretum in Canberra and it was a stunning day for views over the city.

We also really enjoyed a walk through the corkwood forest, from which cork had been harvested some time ago.

We stopped at the sports ground at Geurie for a few days for cheap power and water while Dazz worked, and then headed for home.

Another night at Glenriddle Reserve.

Corellas in the late afternoon.

And then we were home... until next time...
