Day 1 in Dhaka
Dazz went out and about in the city, tagging along with our friend as he taught a couple of English classes. Here are the highlights of his day in photos...
My program wasn't quite so busy - it involved a rickshaw ride to the International Club to do laps! I still managed to a get a few interesting photos though.
Dubai
We had a lovely night... well, it was more like a morning since it didn't start until 2:30am... in a hotel in Dubai courtesy of Emirates. Our flight from Istanbul was delayed and we knew we were arriving in Dubai with only a few minutes before boarding would close for our next flight. As we left the plane we were met by a man who already had new boarding passes for the next available flight (12 hours later) and a hotel/meal voucher. Although it meant our friends in Bangladesh had no idea why we didn't arrive at the airport until we could get some internet connection later in the day, and even though we missed out on spending that day with them, we did enjoy sleeping in a bed rather than on the plane that night!
Apparently suitcases are not the way to pack belongings when travelling in this part of the world...
The Burj Khalifa - the tallest building in the world. (We were sitting on the wrong side of the plane for a closer view as we took off. We only managed to see it as we banked around, so it was further away.)

Kızkalesi
We explored the town...
... and the ruins of the castle on the mainland.
But we particularly enjoyed the changing light on the island castle.
