There was one day of sunny and cool weather forecast before a cold wet change was due to come through, so I picked Bluff Knoll as the walk to do in the Stirling Ranges. It was a beautiful day, and a lovely drive through farmland to the national park. The canola was past its prime, though.
The peak was rather imposing as we started off, but we were pleasantly distracted by a range of flowers.
As we climbed higher we got some nice views back towards the west.
There was also a pretty little waterfall.
It wasn't until we were well into it that I did the calculation and realised the 3.4km to the top had over 600m of elevation gain, which was close to 20% average gradient... It was all straight up!
This was the flat bit!
The views were increasingly spectacular, though.
Until we reached the top!
The light was quite different on the way down, but the photos don't quite capture how pretty it was.
